Mary Carnesale Gallagher, Psy.D.

Dr. Mary Gallagher received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Duke University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Montefiore Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CCDBT).  Dr. Gallagher completed intensive training in DBT through Behavioral Tech, LLC and has completed trainings in Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Exposure and Response Prevention, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. 

Dr. Gallagher worked as a staff psychologist at CCDBT before working in private practice.  At CCDBT, she conducted intake evaluations, individual therapy, and family therapy.  Dr. Gallagher led adolescent and adult DBT skills groups, anxiety skills groups, and MBSR.  Dr. Gallagher also provided supervision to postdoctoral fellows.

Dr. Gallagher is currently an Adjunct Clinical Professor and Supervisor at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She has taught both Beginner & Advanced CBT skills courses and provided supervision to graduate students in training. Dr. Gallagher also works as a consulting psychologist for Duke University Global Education Office for Undergraduates. She has led trainings and workshops for both doctoral students and professionals, including CBT for depression, DBT, and mindfulness.  She is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the New York City Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association, and the Women's Mental Health Consortium.
